About Me

I graduated and received my MSW  from stony Brook University School of Social Welfare, and am a Clinical Licensed Social Worker, LCSW. I am also a certified teacher in Special  Education. I have experience working with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings as well as a background working with individuals with a dual diagnosis.

Life can be so difficult at times, those day to day  challenges  that we struggle with. How wonderful would it be to be able to deal and cope with life on life’s terms. It seems as though you have tried everything but nothing seems to work, at least not for long anyway; only to be a temporary solution. You can’t seem to understand why nothing seems to be changing in your life. Imagine what it would feel like to intuitively know how to handle situations without a struggle, with more ease, creating a more peaceful experience.

As a solution focused therapist, the goal is to introduce concepts for solution-oriented thinking. Individuals will gain knowledge in problem solving and healthy coping skills. So often, individuals focus on the problem; which contributes to the vicious cycle of negative thinking, feeling hopeless, placing blame on others and being easily frustrated. Negative thinking can lead to giving up; resulting in old behaviors and patterns. Together we will take a look at the problem but focus on the solution. Solution oriented thinkers focus on the positive, feel hopeful and take responsibility for behaviors and actions. They see problems as temporary challenges that can be overcome.

In order to accommodate busy lives I have weekend appointments available, that way individuals do not have to stress about taking time from work or other important daily activities. Together, we will make a customized plan to help you make the changes necessary to be successful in life.
